CLIMCAP – a course on urban climate adaptation for professionals

2014 - 2015, funded by the EU Leonardo Life Long Learning programme, project leader: Monika Steinrücke, team members WUR: Sanda Lenzholzer, Janine Quist (Wageningen Academy)

The CLIMCAP (hyperlink in the word http://www.wur.nl/nl/activiteit/Cursus-klimaatadaptatie-in-stedelijke-gebieden-CLIM-CAP.htm) project developed a part-time course on urban climate adaptation for professionals in the urban planning and design industries. Sanda Lenzholzer developed the didactic concept that consisted of three major learning goals: to know and apply the basic knowledge of urban climate physics, to conduct simple urban climate analyses and to create planning and designs solutions for different urban scales. The CLIMCAP pilot course was taught successfully in 2015 and the course is now continued as part of the regular course program of the Wageningen Academy. Our valued colleague Marjolein Pijpers-van Esch has taken over the coordination of the course.
