Certain urban building configurations such as urban blocks with a high density tend to accumulate heat and landscape architectural design interventions might be a solution to solve this problem. In this MSc thesis project the key building types of heat accumulation are identified, based on heat measurements in Rotterdam. For these building types a large spectrum of heat mitigating interventions is proposed and subsequently tested by projecting the interventions on a site in Rotterdam. Please find the MSc thesis here.
